New Grain and Oilseed Complex Planned To Be Built In Pivdenny Port

LLC Techagro has presented to the session of Pivdenny (ex Yuzhny) Sea Port on Wednesday 08 September the project of a new berth complex, as reported by the Port Authority Press Office.

The project provides for construction of a terminal to receive and handle grain cargoes from road and rail transport, vegetable oil from road transport, and sunflower seeds. It would embrace grain cargo transhipment and vegoils reception complexes, as well as the vegoils extraction plant.

According to the project, the new terminal’s annual throughput is going to comprise 2.7M t of grains, 200,000 t of vegoils, and up to 80,000 t of sunflower seeds.

New Grain and Oilseed Complex Planned To Be Built In Pivdenny Port

The total area of land plots to become the base of works is 30 hectares. The start of terminal construction is planned on 2022. The term of construction is 44 months. The term of investments return is 6 years.

The sea trade port of Pivdenny is situated on the shores of Adjalyk Liman of the Black Sea north-west coast. It has 19 cargo berths and the total waterfront of 4.946 km. From June the port’s official draft is 18.5 m, so its harbour is the deepest in Ukraine. As per the USPA (Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority) stevedores register, there are TIS, the public operator Pivdenny Port, LLC Delta Vilmar, Odessa Port Plant, Ukrtransnafta, LLC Beaurivage, LLC Risoil-Yug, and others working in the port.
