SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA) announced the open tender aimed to select the contractor for operation dredging works in Odessa Sea Port internal water area, as stated in Prozorro Public Procurement System.
USPA Press Service noted that dredging works are scheduled for 2018-2019. The seabed cleaning scope exceeds 91 thousand cubic meters of sediments. The expected cost of works amounts to 19.027M UAH.
USPA Director Raivis Veckagans commented: “USPA continues the scheduled dredging works in all the Ukrainian sea ports. Last year we engaged our own fleet in dredging works at Odessa Port, while this year we will engage a contractor, since USPA fleet is busy in other areas, in particular in the Danube and Sea of Azov regions. We expect the tender to be held within the scheduled term. The economic component and work quality are also crucial factors for us. USPA has quite a large experience in similar procedures, so we reckon on tender success”.
Now USPA is collecting tender proposals from companies – candidates to participate in the tender. Both national and international companies may submit the documents, but not later than June 4, 2018. The tender will be held on July, 10.
Odessa Sea Port is located in the South-Western part of the Gulf of Odessa. In consists of 31 cargo berths, 6.291 km long. According to USPA Register, Odessa Sea Port hosts SC Container Terminal Odessa, Brooklyn-Kiev LTD, MetalsUkraine Corp LTD, LLC Novolog, Olympex Coupé International Ltd, Novotech-Terminal Ltd, LLC Ukrainian National Stevedoring Company, Odessa Grain Terminal of PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, and other port operators.
In 2017, the cargo flow in Odessa Port dropped by 4.4% against 2016, up to 24.136M t, while its percentage in Ukraine’s total sea ports cargo flow made up 18.2% against 19.1% in 2016.
