Vladislav Krykliy presented projects for investments to Azerbaijani colleagues – December 17, 2019

On December 17, 2019, Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krykliy paid a visit to Azerbaijan as part of the official delegation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the visit, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine spoke at the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Forum.

Vladislav Krykliy stressed the importance of creating comfortable conditions for transport between countries and in Europe-Caucasus-Asia: “We want road and air transport to be liberalized. Business is hindered by barriers. Ukrainian and Azerbaijani officials are working to abolish them”.

According to him, in order to achieve this goal last week in Kiev, GUAM member states have already signed a number of documents that will allow the use of blockchain technologies in the process of verification of certificates of origin of goods, as well as mutually recognize authorized economic operators. Vladislav Krykliy stressed that both documents are important for the rapid passage of goods across state borders.

“There is a unique situation in Ukraine now – the government in Ukraine is the only one in the pursuit of reforms. We encourage investors to join our team. The first concession competitions in Olbia and Kherson ports are already underway. In 2020, such ports as Mariupol, Berdyansk, Odessa and the ferry complex at the port of Chernomorsk are also preparing for the concession”, the minister said.

Vladislav Krykliy noted that in addition to ports, the Ministry of Infrastructure is also working on projects of concessions for roads, regional airports and railway stations: “We offer concessions to the airports of Kherson, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhia. We are also preparing concession projects for Kharkov, Dnipro, Khmelnitsky, Mykolayiv and Chop stations. Our competitions are transparent and open. So I urge businesses to join and invest in Ukraine”.

The minister also stressed that Ukraine is interested in the Azerbaijani experience of digitization of transport processes and invites Azerbaijani companies to work together on the development of multimodal transport and creation of digital transport corridors: “We also have ambitious plans to restore 24,000 km of roads in five years and we invite companies who are ready to restore Ukrainian roads. Ukraine is open to cooperation and investment”.
