Risoil Buying Ore Handling Operator in Chornomorsk

Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine has allowed the company Risoil S.A. to buy the majority stake of Boconti Ukraine LLC, the authority’s official site reports.

“The permit has been granted to Risoil S.A. (Switzerland) in respect of purchasing the share of Boconti Ukraine LLC (Odessa) stock which secures overstepping 50% of votes in the company’s supreme governing body”, says the report.

Boconti Ukraine LLC deals with transhipment and storage of dry bulk cargoes, and operates one of the most promising ore complexes in Chornomorsk Port.

The company’s capacities enable to annually handle up to 2M t of dry bulk cargoes, provide cargo weighing and loading into gondola railcars in the import mode up to 200 cars per 24 hrs. The terminal is capable of admitting Handymax vessels with 11.2 m draught, 220 m length and up to 50,000 t load capacity. The vessels handling tempo is up to 20,000 t per 24 hrs. The one-time storage capacity is up to 200,000 t of dry bulk cargoes.

“The company plans to invest $20M in the processing line furnishing in order to enlarge transhipment and storage of both imported and exported cargoes. There is also the workforce increase planned up to 250 persons”, Risoil’s Press Office advised.

Risoil S.A. was founded in 2000 in Geneva (Switzerland). It is a major port operator investing in the infrastructure of Chornomorsk Port. Its main business activities focus on logistics and port handling of edible oils, grains and other bulk cargoes in the Black Sea ports. The company has also won the tender on Kherson Sea Port concession in consortium with Georgian interests. The concession agreement is expected to be signed soon.
