We are delighted to inform you that the ICAC Annual Report 2021 has been released. The ICAC has also published its updated statistics for 2021.
The ICAC’s Annual Report does not only showcase the milestones of the Ukrainian arbitration institution over the past year, but also offers a credible point of reference to the top-performing industries, the most active international trade partners of Ukraine, as well as to the forthcoming developments of international arbitration for even better protection of the legitimate interests of business.
The ICAC would normally publish its Annual Report for the previous year in February. The war changed the usual path of business life forcing the ICAC to postpone the release of its Annual Report. Instead the institution focused entirely on securing timely and uninterrupted consideration of cases during the wartime. It would be fair to state that the ICAC proved impressive institutional resilience to the most hazardous external challenges. It was uninterruptedly considering cases during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 – 2021, as well as after the start of a full-scale military invasion by russia on 24 February 2022.
The ICAC’s Report 2021 features:
- Efficiency
- The number of registered and resolved cases
- The duration of arbitral proceedings
- The awards challenging rate
- Gender policy
- Origin of the parties and industry focus
- ICAC’s input into the promotion of international arbitration in Ukraine
- ICAC’s engagement with the professional arbitration community and future plans
The ICAC firmly holds its front by ensuring effective protection of the legitimate rights and interests of the parties, boosting the investment attractiveness of Ukraine and its economic flourishing after Ukraine’s victory in the unjustified war.
