LLC Danube Shipping and Stevedoring Company (DSSC) operating a grain and oilseeds terminal in Mykolaiv sea port intends to realise a development project for the transhipment complex.

As reported by Mykolaiv Branch of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) Press Office, the terminal development design was presented by DSSC Director Yurii Bulgakov at the port’s council meeting last Wednesday.

“With this project the company communicates its objective to provide reconstruction and modernisation of the transhipment complex situated in the rear of Berths 1 and 2, as well as to obtain and enjoy the right of use for the reconstructed Berth 0 in accordance with the law of Ukraine in force”, noted Press Office.

LLC DSSC is controlled by Chinese state corporation COFCO. In May 2016 DSSC launched the grain and oilseeds handling complex on the base of Berths 1 and 2 of Mykolaiv Port. The investments amounted to $75M.

In November 2018 USPA and COFCO signed a memorandum on development of the Chinese company’s terminal in Mykolaiv Port. Earlier COFCO promulgated its plans of investing in berthing capacities of Mykolaiv Port and river logistics in Ukraine up to $30M.

Ukrainian assets of COFCO are consolidated by COFCO Agri Ukraine.
