Ukraine and China Signing Agreement on Cooperation in Building Infrastructure

Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and Minister of Commerce of PR China Wang Wentao have signed an intergovernmental agreement envisaging the extensive collaboration, promotion of cooperation between Ukraine and China aiming at the realisation of joint projects in the sphere of infrastructure build-out.

There are the railway transit, airports, sea ports, communications, and municipal engineering construction.

According to the agreement, Ukraine and China shall encourage companies and financial institutions of both countries to actively collaborate in the field of erecting infrastructure objects, promote establishment of tighter economic links between the two nations, and render necessary help and support in realisation of joint ventures.

It was pointed out that Agreement between Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of People’s Republic China on the Deepening of Cooperation in the Field of Infrastructure Development envisages the involvement of funds on special terms from the PRC Government necessary for infrastructure projects implementation.

As a result of the joint consultations, Parties are going to approve potential projects of cooperation to be supported by means of the PRC.

“The signing of the Agreement is another step of the Ukrainian and Chinese governments towards the profound commercial and economic cooperation meeting the both Parties’ interests”, the report by MIU says.
