The first auctions can take place already in two months.
This was declared yesterday during Ukrainian Transport Infrastructure Week Vice-Chairman of State Property Fund of Ukraine Taras Yeleyko.
“We have the three sea ports to be privatised: Ust-Dunaisk, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky, and Skadovsk. There are many inner problems in them, and we are trying hard now to make each port a self-sustainable business unit. As for the first two – we plan to proclaim the auctions in two months, as for Skadovsk – the auction will be announced by the end of the year. These assets will be open for purchase and able to be managed as private ones with minimal additional conditions”, said Mr Yeleyko.
“We are responsible for the process of sales while the very decision about privatisation is taken by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Ministry of Infrastructure. If we manage to show good results, there is a possibility some other ports would be passed to privatisation”, he added.
