According to CEO Oleksiy Vadatursky, the Nibulon Agricultural Holding intends to build a new port complex in Ochakiv (Mykolaiv region) that will become the company’s fleet base.
“Our company is starting to work on a new complex project realization at the mouth of the Dnieper–Bug estuary. Ochakiv fish cannery will be the basis of the project the property of which we acquired through an auction. I believe many of us still have a good memory of the cannery’s product as well as the fact that in our country fish and seafood wasn’t in a limited supply. However, nowadays the situation is completely the opposite. The fish industry is shrinking every year in Ukraine. That’s why our company’s decision was to take up this problem solution”, – wrote Mr. Vadatursky on Facebook.
According to his words, the company’s investment program on the Dnipro–Bug estuary comprises two parallel directions. “Firstly, it is the port complex construction in the city of Ochakiv of Mykolaiv Region that will become the company’s fleet base. Secondly, it is fishing industry revival. We want to restore fishing industry as well as fish, mollusk crustaceans processing and canning in Dnipro-Bug estuary”, – reported the CEO.
To Mr. Vadatursky’s mind, because of the project complexity, the company is considering a possibility of constructing the fleet dedicated to fish industry needs in its own shipyard. “In overall our project investment realisation will give an important boost to the regional economy growth thanks to new working place creation, local budget replenishment and infrastructure development”, – he added.
LLC Nibulon Agricultural Holding (founded in 1991) is one of the largest grain market operators in Ukraine. It possesses its own transhipment terminal in Mykolaiv Sea Port with 5M t annual capacity, 11 river terminals on Dnepro-Bug estuary, a shipping company together with a ships building and repair yard.
In 2017-2018 the company exported 4.1M t of grain and oilseeds (in 2016-2017 marketing years (MY) – 4.65M t). In 2017-2018 MY the company transferred 2.5M t of goods through inland waterways.
