One of the world’s largest shipping companies Hapag-Lloyd opens its office in Ukraine considering the country’s economic growth persuasive enough.
The office will be set up in Odessa, and there are over 20 employees already working in it, as per the company’s information.
The company has noted Ukraine’s favouring geographic position which came a decisive factor pro.
“Ukraine is perceived as an attractive export market for Hapag-Lloyd also by its abundance of various mineral resources and one of the world biggest agriculture productions. Ukraine is an important importer of electronics, equipment and consumer goods, as well as the place for operations of a number of global major transnational companies, which promises wide opportunities for the sea carriers such as Hapag-Lloyd”, the company’s report says.
“The country’s economic growth is convincing, and many Ukrainian shippers already enjoy the services of Hapag-Lloyd. Establishing our office in Ukraine we pay homage to the excellent business development and huge chances we see at this market”, the report quoting as well the company’s management.
Nowadays Hapag-Lloyd owns the fleet of 241 modern container vessels with the total capacity of 1.7M t. It is a major global company in the sector of liner shipping. The company’s personnel embraces over 13,300 employees working in 395 offices of 131 countries.
The box capacity of Hapag-Lloyd comprises some 2.8M t including a largest most modern lot of reefers. All in all, the 121 liner services over the world secure connections between more than 600 ports of all the continents.
The company has earlier launched block trains from Odessa to Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv, from 30 to 45 cars each.
