The plan defines phases and terms for fulfilment of the actions necessary to secure efficient activity and development of the industry on the whole.
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its today’s meeting have approved the plan of measures aimed at implementing National Transport Strategy of Ukraine till 2030.
“National Transport Strategy ‘Drive Ukraine 2030’ is the basic programming document that identifies development of the transport sector for the next 9 years. The plan of this Strategy’s realisation approved today by Government defines particular phases and time periods for the actions we need to provide the sector’s efficacious functioning and complex development in general”, noted Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii.
According to Minister of Infrastructure, the document had been elaborated with the support by Mission of the EU in Ukraine, and it reflects the implementation of EU-integration commitments of our state in the transport sphere.
“This means the introduction of European green agenda and replacement of the existing public transport with more up-to-date and environmentally friendly one as well as the passengers transportation services enhancement and development of the bicycles infrastructure and so on. The document was many times discussed in a wide circle of stakeholders – specialists, industry experts, representatives of business, regions, and community, and it also contains detailed steps towards realisation of all the tasks, certain amounts and sources of funding”, added Mr Kryklii.
In particular, the plan embraces: transport infrastructure development projects both at regional and international levels, realisation of which is aimed at improvement of safety, quality, and accessibility of transport services; attraction of innovative technologies and introduction of preference for national manufacturers as per proposals by correspondent industry associations; enhancement of the transport services rendering quality, their ecological compatibility and compliance with world standards; integration of Ukrainian transport system into the European one, et al.
“Each of the four main ranges of Strategy has the list of defined tasks necessary to being worked on in order to solve the existing problems. each task has its corresponding stages of implementation, terms and indicators”, summed up the head of the ministry.
