In 2017, through Dnieper river, 8,095 million tons of cargo were transported – by 1,7 million tons or by 26% more compared to the previous year. This is evidenced by the data of the River Information Service of Ukraine’s waterways, transmitted by the Ports of Ukraine.
The main carriers on the inland waterways of Ukraine remain the company “Ukrrichflot” and “Nibulon”.
Navigation on the Dnieper in 2017 was carried out from the end of March to December. According to the State Enterprise of Waterways (HVVP) “Ukrvodshhlyah”, the number of vessels that have been using the river Dnieper for the navigation period 2017 has increased in comparison with the 2016 for 13% of the year to 13 408 vessels.
In 2016 year, along the Dnieper River, 6,4 million tons of cargo and 1711 containers were transported.
