The French company Eiffage is to become the general contractor in deep sea port Anaklia constructing. Being a general contractor of Anaklia Development Consortium (ADC), Eiffage together with the company’s partners, in particular, ABB (Switzerland) and CRP (Georgia) should provide construction works of the first phase.
As it was reported by the ADC, the world’s leading civil engineering companies were participating in the international general constructor selection tender. The tender was divided into several phases and finally the consortium made its decision in favour of the French company Eiffage that is one of the top five construction companies in Europe and has provided more than 100, 000 large projects.
Eiffage is to perform the first stage of deep sea port Anaklia construction and according to the contract 90% of those employed in construction are to be the local inhabitants. Overall there are to be 1,500 people engaged in construction. The French company has turned actively into the process of Anaklia port first stage detailed design completion as it was stated by the consortium.
The French company Eiffage has implemented such large-scale projects as Port of Barcelona, Port of Dakar in Spain and Senegal respectively, bridges and railway lines in many European countries, EuroAirport Basel – Mulhouse – Freiburg in Switzerland and Airport-Crete in Greece, large bridges El Tigre Viaduct and Unibridge® bridges in Colombia and on the Philippines, etc.
