Olvia Port Concession Challenged by Qatari Qterminals

Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has finalised call for bid on the SE Stevedoring Company Olvia assets concession tender. There were three applications submitted from would-be concessionaires, and two of them have qualified for tender, as reports MIU.

One of the companies bade on the last day, so Tender Committee has not yet decided with this regard.

There are two companies from Ukraine and one from Qatar aspiring to the concession in Olvia Port, in particular LLC Maritime Agency “Piters”, LLC Protto-Gazolin, and the port operator from Qatar QTerminals.

MIU has specified that the next phase i.e. tender biddings assessment is to take place on 21 January 2020.

Let’s take note that LLC Protto-Gazolin was registered in Mykolaiv, its statutory capital amounts to 1,000 UAH. Its main activity is wholesale trade of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and the like, as well as oil refining production and fuel retail.

As for LLC Maritime Agency “Piters”, its statutory fund counts 34,375 UAH, the company has also Mykolaiv registry and provides accompanying services for transportations, maritime and coastal cargo traffic.

QTerminals is a port operator managing container, Rо-Rо, and general cargo terminals in the Qatari port Hamad. As of the late June 2019, QTerminals had handled for less than 3 years of operation almost 3M TEU, over 3M t of general cargo, 175,000 vehicles and 3,500 ships.
