Ukraine and Turkey to Sign Free Trade Agreement Soonest

In the nearest time Ukraine and Turkey are going to sign an agreement on the free trade zone (FTZ), according to the head of Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, as reported by Ukrinform.
As per the minister’s words, today free trade agreements are signed with 20 countries, and with 17 more negotiations continue, including Ecuador, Ukraine, Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia.
“The talks with Ukraine, in particular, are at the final phase. The free trade agreement with Ukraine can possibly be signed in the nearest future. The same with Japan is to be signed in June”, said Mr Çavuşoğlu.
As per State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, the latter’s goods turnover with Turkey in 2018 amounted to $4.042Bn, embracing $2.352Bn of export to, and $1.69Bn import from Turkey.
Ukraine –Turkey commodity circulation in 2017 comprised $3,771Bn ($2.519Bn export and $1.251Bn import), in 2016 — $3.136Bn (export — $2.048Bn, import — $1.087Bn), in 2015 — $3.614Bn (export — $2.775Bn, import — $838,959M), in 2014 — $4.874Bn (export — $3.576Bn, import — $1.298Bn).
