According to SE Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), the Mykolaiv Port Development Plan for 5 – 25 Years, as approved by Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in July 2018, envisages realisation of the project Grain, General or Liquid Cargoes Universal Transhipment Complex (UTC) Construction in the rear of Berth 8, and the project Liquid and/or General Cargoes UTC Construction in the rear of Berth 8.
The project Grain, General or Liquid Cargoes Universal Handling Complex Construction in the rear of Berth 8 is a private investment venture of LLC Avesta Trans to be realised on account of the company’s own and raised funds. The UTC is designed for transhipment, storage and shipment of dry bulk (grains, oilseeds and derivatives) or general either liquid cargoes, or their combination.
“Transfer and technological lines are designed for the planned annual handling turnover of about 2M t. The estimated cost of complex construction will amount to some 900-1,000M UAH”, reported USPA.
The project Liquid and/or General Cargoes UTC Construction in the rear of Berth 8 is a private investment venture of LLC Trionta Logistics to be realised on account of the company’s own and raised funds. The UTC is designed for transhipment, storage and shipment of liquid and/or general cargoes.
“The liquid cargoes handling annual turnover is estimated at about 1,000 t. The estimated cost of construction will take some 240-260M t”, declared USPA.
The final cost for both projects is to be defined in the course of design and budget documentation preparing.
Avesta Trans and Trionta Logistics were founded in 2016, authorized capitals of both being 1,000 UAH. Their ultimate beneficiary is mentioned a businessman Leonid Kryuchkov.
Earlier another company with Leonid Kryuchkov as an ultimate beneficiary, i.e. Seaside Terminal, also announced its intention to invest around 120M UAH in reconstruction of the railway station Mykolaiv-Vantazhny aiming at enlargement of its throughput capacity.
The sea port of Mykolaiv plans to involve 1.2Bn UAH of investments in construction of new capacities to handle grains and vegoils in the rear of Berth 8. As per the USPA data, new facilities would enable Mykolaiv Port to process grains over 2M t i.e. by 750,000 t a year more. However, USPA refused to name the investors, noting it would be a new relationship for the port.
