World Forum on PPP Infrastructure Projects to Take Place in Kiev

A global level conference dedicated to public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects in East Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia will go off in Kiev on 14 September. The event is to be opened by Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine (MIU) Volodymyr Omelian and Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mykhailo Tytarchyk.
The issues to be discussed by the conference participants are going to deal with legal and institutional aspects of PPP business cases fruition in the infrastructure sector, online platform for well worked out ventures.
Some of the foremost topics will be port infrastructure development by way of PPP, PPP mechanism in the sphere of motorways and road dues, PPP in the air transport field.
Besides, matters of PPP projects implementation in the health care and municipal engineering sectors.
As it was mentioned by the conveners, one of the meeting’s goals is providing comprehensive dialogue between private and public sectors with the purpose of sharing knowledge and expertise, introducing best international practices, and creating fresh investment opportunities in order to realise PPP projects in the infrastructure sphere.
The Conference’s significance is emphasized by its high-level participation: apart from the top management of the two ministries it was also attended by Chairman of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority Raivis Veckagans, Head of the office, National Investment Council under President of Ukraine Yulia Kovaliv, Vice Director of EBRD, Senior Expert on PPP Marcos Martinez Garcia, Director of Global Infrastructure Hub Daniel Fedson, Chief Operating Officer of Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation Pierre Sarrat, EBRD Director of Transport Team Sue Barrett, MIU Advisor Nadiia Kaznacheieva, Director of Ports and Logistics Consultants Ltd Dr Khalid Bichou, representatives of IFC, Head of MIU project office SPILNO Taras Boichuk et alii.
