P & O Maritime has acquired control stake over the Ukrainian towing company LB Shipping. The investment company SD Capital (owned by Andrey Stavnitser and Philipp Grushko) acted as co-investor of the transaction. The transaction value is undisclosed.
The deal on acquisition and creating a JV has been signed by Andrey Stavnitser, SD Capital Partner, and DP World Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem in November 2017 after the visit of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to DP World Group headquarters in the UAE.
Within this visit, the Chairman of DP World Group confirmed the company’s intention to invest into Ukrainian port infrastructure.
Andrey Stavnitser, SD Capital Partner, considers P&O Maritime entering the market to be the biggest exit-deal in Ukraine over the last few years.

P & O Maritime is a global operator of port services, established in the UK in 1834. The company provides various port services all over the world, has its own fleet of tug boats, mooring vessels, research vessels, passenger and cruise liners. DP World Group acquired P & O Maritime in 2006.
DP World Group is one of the largest port operators in the world. The company’s headquarters in the port of Jebel Ali (Dubai). The company operates 78 marine and onland terminals in 40 countries, and also runs 50 related businesses.
